What this site records

This site sets no cookies and uses no trackers. We count page views, downloads and clicks as anonymous daily totals. The source of a visit is counted only as a broad group, such as search engine, LinkedIn or email. Our counting stores no IP address and no identifier.

Our host, Netlify, processes technical logs that include your IP address, to deliver the site and keep it secure. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working site (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

When you contact me

By email or Signal you share what you choose to share: usually a name, contact details and a description of the situation. That can include information about health, about other people or about criminal offences.

I use it only to assess your request, to reply and, if we agree to work together, to carry out the engagement. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a contract, and the contract itself (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). For sensitive information, your explicit consent when you send it (Article 9(2)(a) GDPR) and, where needed, the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims (Article 9(2)(f) GDPR).

Email is not end to end encrypted. Leave names out of a first message, or use Signal.

Nothing is sold, and nothing is used for advertising.

Outside the European Union

Netlify and Apple are based in the United States. Transfers rely on the EU US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, and otherwise on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

How long

Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement: twelve months. Engagement files: six years, or longer where the law requires it. Where an NDA between us sets other terms, the NDA applies, unless the law requires us to keep the material.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable form. Where you gave consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to rico@briedjal.com.

You can also complain to the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, www.aepd.es.

There is no automated decision making and no profiling of visitors.
